Paul Kaplan

In 2004, White and Kaplan, both CPAs, founded the residential property management company. At the time, competitors had a “15-year head start on us,” White says. Today, KW has more than 70,000 units under management and about 1,500 employees in eight offices across Florida and the Bahamas.

Kaplan has a bachelor’s degree from Tulane and an MBA from the University of Miami. He says he’s a “business and numbers-oriented person” who started a boat-washing business in high school. Kaplan’s son has Fragile X syndrome, the most common form of mental impairment, and he and his wife created Families for Fragile X, a foundation that raises money and provides support for families with Fragile X children.
